The 3th edition of Ranking University-Enterprise 2017, created by Everis Foundation, analyses the opinion of the enterprises about the skills of the postgraduate workers hired in the last five years. This ranking have positioned the Universitat de València in the first place in the Science and Engineering field; and in the second place in Economics, Law and Business Administration and Management. Furthermore, the Universitat de València has moved from position sixth to the third place in terms of innovation this year. It has improved its position in the Reuters News ranking. In this ranking in which have participated a hundred of European universities with major contributions to science and technology, the Valencian academic institution has moved from 95th position to the 82th in 2016-2017.
The 3th edition of Ranking University-Enterprise 2017, created by Everis Foundation, analyses the opinion of 3,545 enterprises about the skills of the postgraduate workers hired in the last five years previous to the sample (April 2012-April 2017). This ranking represents a new approach, because it offers the change to analyse the evolution of the universities in its adaptation to the reality of the Spanish labour market.
According to this classification, the Universitat de València has the major employability among the rest of Spanish universities in the field of sciences and engineering (with a mark of 8.44 out of 10) and it is the second ibn the field of Business Administration and Management and Law (7,73).
This ranking classifies the best valued Spanish universities in five disciplines according to the opinion of the employers about the recently postgraduate workers. To do the ranking, it is used a valuation (from 0 to 10) of the skills acquired by the postgraduate workers during their academic years, in relation to their adaptation to the enterprise needs.
Regarding the Reuters News ranking, in which the Universitat de València is the third most innovative in Spain, only eleven Spanish universities are among the hundred most innovative European high schools. The ranking is headed by KU Leuven University (Belgium), Imperial College London (United Kingdom) and the Cambridge University (United Kingdom). When it comes to the Spanish universities, Valencia has the 82th place among the European universities. The University of Barcelona has a better position (63th) as well as the Universidad Autonoma de Barcelona (81th). Among the Spanish universities, the Universitat de València is followed by the Universidad Politécnica de Valencia and Catalonia, with the 84th and 85th place in the European ranking.
In order to establish the ranking of the most innovative European universities, Reuters News has based on the data collected by Clarivate Analytics and its several research platforms: InCites, Web of Science, Derwent Innovations Index, Derwent World Patents Index and Patents Citation Index.
The indicators used to rank the universities are the global volume, success and number of patents. As well as the number of quotes, the citation and article citations impact by the industry, and the total of articles of the Science Core Collection webpage, among others
